- Sub: Correction to C++ book notice
-
- Through a mis-communication with Addison-Wesley, we originally thought that the
- new book, "Elements of C++ Macintosh Programming", was available for shipping
- now and sent out the memo below. NOT TRUE, as we discovered this afternoon.
- It is scheduled to be available the week of July 9th, with the first shipment
- from the bindery coming to MADA.
-
- We will accept ADVANCE orders, and not charge your credit card or deposit your
- check until the book is actually shipped. Those who have already ordered as of
- today's date (5/25/90), may link us with a cancellation if you do not want to
- order in advance.

-
- The MacApp Developers Association is carrying the new book "Elements of C++
- Macintosh Programming," by Dan Weston, edited by Scott Knaster. This is the
- second book in Addison-Wesley Publishing's "Macintosh Inside Out" series. The
- first book, "Programming with MacApp," also available through the Association,
- has been a run-away seller since its introduction in April.
-
- "Elements of C++ Macintosh Programming" provides a good introduction to the
- basics of object-oriented programming and C++. It shows how to write C++
- programs for the Mac, using the Mac system software and Toolbox, with complete
- working programs that illustrate topics covered. In addition, the book
- demonstrates the use of the MacApp class library with C++. Appendices include
- additional information on MPW and THINK C 4.0. 250 pages.
-
- The book is available at many larger book stores. But, if you don't have a
- book store near you that carries the book, or if you just want to save the
- time, you may order it via mail order from the Association. MADA members can
- purchase this book for 20% OFF the cover price, though this savings will be
- totally offset by the shipping and handling charges (sorry--that's what happens
- with a product priced this low).
-
- YOU CAN ORDER by linking us your VISA, MasterCard or AmEx number and
- expiration date. You can also send us a check: MacApp Developers Association,
- P.O. Box 23, Everett, WA 98206.
-
- Prices are as follows:
- Item Retail Member
- "Elements of C++ Macintosh Programming" $19.95 $16.00
-
- Please add shipping and handling: $6.50 (UPS Ground), $12.50 (2-Day Air),
- $16.50 (Overnight), or $20.50 (International). Washington State residents,
- please add 7.8% sales tax.
-
- Happy MacApping!

-
- P.S. Look for an announcement in July for the third book in the "Macintosh
- Inside Out" series, "Programming with MacApp and C++," by Dave Wilson, Larry
- Rosenstein and Dan Shafer. Scheduled for release in August and to be available
- through the Association.
